She said several Dalits were injured in the incident, which led to a tense situation in the area.

The BSP chief shared on social media on Sunday that a dispute arose between two parties over the placement of a statue on village land, which later escalated into a clash. She alleged that several Dalits were injured in the incident.

Mayawati demanded immediate and fair action from the police and administration in the matter. She asked the administration to take effective steps to maintain peace and order while maintaining complete control over the situation. She appealed to both parties to exercise restraint and maintain mutual harmony. She said that the matter should be resolved legally rather than using force, so that tensions do not escalate and peace prevails in the area. could.

After the incident, police force has been deployed in the village and surveillance has been increased. Administrative officials are monitoring the situation.

Notably, on May 9-10, a violent clash erupted between two communities in Lalwala village of the Deoband area of Saharanpur over the occupation of approximately 2 bighas of land and the alleged installation of a Maharana Pratap’s statue. During this incident, eight people, including three women, were injured by stone-pelting and a lathi charge. The police have registered a case and deployed a heavy police force.
