Following reports of his illness, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal visited Mann on Thursday at his official residence to inquire about his health. He then went on to assess the flood-affected areas in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala district.
Earlier today, Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian urged Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for immediate relief and a massive financial package to address the devastating impact of floods.
He has also demanded enhanced compensation to support affected farmers after over four lakh acres of the state’s agricultural land were submerged, threatening both state and national food security.
The death toll due to the floods has climbed to 43 in the state, while 1900 villages are affected.
