PM to launch key development projects in Northeast on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday announced on social media that tomorrow, September 22, will be a significant day for the development of the Northeast region as he will launch key projects linked to energy, connectivity, healthcare, and more in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

He will also lay the foundation stone for two mega hydropower projects in the state.

Later in the day, Mr Modi will travel to Udaipur, Tripura, where he will inaugurate development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex. This initiative is expected to boost tourism and drive socio-economic development in the region.

“Tomorrow, 22nd September, is a very important day for the development of the Northeast. During a programme in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, will launch key projects linked to energy, connectivity, healthcare and more. The foundation stone would be laid for two mega hydropower projects,” the prime minister said in his post.

“Later, in Udaipur, Tripura, will inaugurate development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex,” PM Modi added.

The projects that PM Modi will launch and inaugurate are worth over Rs 5,100 crore and aim to boost the region’s infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and tourism sectors. The two hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh are valued at over Rs 3,700 crore and will harness the state’s vast hydroelectric potential. Additionally, a modern Convention Centre will be built in Tawang, designed to host international conferences and cultural events.

The development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex include improved pathways, new entrances, drainage systems, a meditation hall, and guest facilities. These initiatives are expected to generate employment opportunities and improve the quality of life for the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.

His visit to the Northeast highlights the government’s focus on improving infrastructure and promoting development in the region. The projects he will launch and inaugurate demonstrate the government’s commitment to boosting the region’s economic growth and improving the lives of its people.
