Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday called upon citizens to actively participate in democratic processes, emphasising that democracy thrives not just on institutions but on the conscious involvement of voters.
In a message on handle X, he stressed the importance of faith in India’s democratic values and the responsibility that comes with the right to vote.
”This day is about further deepening our faith in the democratic values of our nation,” PM Modi said, highlighting the significance of voter participation. He praised the Election Commission of India for its role in safeguarding and strengthening the country’s electoral system.
”Being a voter is not just a constitutional privilege, but an important duty that gives every citizen a voice in shaping India’s future,” he added. PM Modi urged people to uphold democratic values by consistently engaging in elections and other democratic exercises.
