Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on September 22, a release from his office said on Sunday.The visit marks a significant step towards boosting the region’s development and preserving its spiritual heritage.
During his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
As part of his Arunachal Pradesh visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for two major hydroelectric projects — the 240 MW Heo Hydro Electric Project and the 186 MW Tato-I Hydro Electric Project — together valued at over Rs 3,700 crore. These initiatives aim to harness the region’s vast hydroelectric potential and promote sustainable energy generation.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Convention Center at Tawang, located at an altitude of over 9,820 feet. This center will serve as a landmark facility to host national and international conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions, supporting the region’s tourism and cultural potential.
In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate multiple key infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,290 crore, spanning sectors such as connectivity, health, fire safety, and working women’s hostels. These initiatives are expected to stimulate economic activity, enhance quality of life, and improve connectivity across the region.
In Tripura, PM Modi will inaugurate the redevelopment of the ‘Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex’ at Matabari under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme. This ancient temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, has been redeveloped at a cost of over Rs 52 crore, with the Tripura government contributing Rs 7 crore to the project
The temple complex has been designed in the shape of a tortoise and includes new pathways, renovated entrances, and a three-storied complex with stalls, meditation halls, and guest accommodations.
The temple redevelopment is expected to boost tourism, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the region’s socio-economic growth. PM Modi will also perform Pooja and Darshan at the temple, highlighting his commitment to promoting and preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
