Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on October 30 and 31, where he will inaugurate development projects worth over Rs1,140 crore and lead the grand Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a government release said on Wednesday.

On October 30, the Prime Minister will focus on enhancing tourism, connectivity, and sustainability in the region surrounding the Statue of Unity. He will flag off e-buses at around 5:15 pm and later, at 6:30 pm, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects valued at over Rs 1,140 crore. Key projects include the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, the first phase of the Hospitality District at Garudeshwar, and an e-bus charging depot with 25 electric buses. These initiatives align with the government’s broader vision of promoting eco-tourism, green mobility, smart infrastructure, and tribal development.

On October 31, the Prime Minister will lead the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s “Iron Man.” The day will begin with a floral tribute at the Statue of Unity at 8 a.m., followed by the administration of the Ekta Diwas pledge and a grand parade featuring contingents from central armed police forces and various state police units. A commemorative ₹150 coin and postage stamp will also be released to mark Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.

The celebrations will highlight India’s rich cultural diversity through a vibrant cultural programme featuring 900 artists and ten thematic tableaux from different states and agencies. Special attractions will include a motorcycle daredevil show by Assam Police, a BSF Camel Contingent, and a display of Indian-bred dogs, underscoring the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”
