In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “Thank you, President Trump, for your phone call and warm Diwali greetings. On this festival of lights, may our two great democracies continue to illuminate the world with hope and stand united against terrorism in all its forms.”
The call highlights the strong bilateral relationship between India and the US, with both nations cooperating on various fronts, including counter-terrorism. PM Modi’s message emphasizes India’s commitment to global peace and security, especially in the fight against terrorism.
Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is a major celebration in India symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Several world leaders, including Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, extended their Diwali wishes to India and Indian communities worldwide.
The India-US relationship has strengthened in recent years, with cooperation expanding in trade, defense, and innovation.Trump’s Diwali celebration at the White House earlier this week further underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship.
