Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone today, October 7, 2025, entering his 25th year of serving as the head of the government.
Reflecting on his journey, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of India for their continuous blessings.
“I took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for the first time. Thanks to the continuous blessings of my fellow Indians, I am entering my 25th year of serving as the head of a Government. My gratitude to the people of India,” Modi said in a post on X.
Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, which began on October 7, 2001, has been notable for its focus on economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs. His governance model, known as the “Gujarat Model,” emphasised efficient governance and investor-friendly policies, which contributed to the state’s rapid development.
During his time as Chief Minister, Modi launched several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Gujaratis, including water conservation programmes, electricity access schemes, and sanitation improvements. These initiatives have had a lasting impact on the state and have been replicated at the national level.
As Prime Minister, Modi has continued to prioritise economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare. His government has implemented several landmark reforms, including the Goods and Services Tax GST and the Jan Dhan Yojana financial inclusion programme.

Gujarat is set to mark 24 years of Modi’s chief ministership with a week-long celebration, starting from October 7. The event will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the State Legislative Assembly.
