Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed his condolences on the passing of renowned actor Kota Srinivas Rao, known for his cinematic brilliance and versatility.

In a post on X, PM Modi described Rao’s performances as “riveting” and noted that he enthralled audiences across generations.

“Anguished by the passing of Shri Kota Srinivas Rao Garu. He will be remembered for his cinematic brilliance and versatility. He enthralled audiences across generations with his riveting performances. He was also at the forefront of social service and worked towards empowering the poor and downtrodden. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi said in his post.

Rao was a celebrated actor in the Telugu film industry, known for his memorable performances in various movies. His contributions to cinema and social service have left a lasting impact on his fans and admirers.

Rao passed away due to age-related ailments in Hyderabad on Sunday. He was 83. As per media reports, Rao, who had been unwell for several years, breathed his last in the early hours of Sunday at his residence.
