‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday had an audience with His Majesty King Harald V of Norway at the Royal Palace in Oslo during his visit to Norway, with the two sides discussing the expanding partnership between India and Norway across sectors, particularly new technologies and innovation-driven industries.

‎During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the people of India to His Majesty King Harald V and appreciated the natural beauty of Norway. He underlined that the long-standing friendship between India and Norway continues to grow stronger and is anchored in shared values of democracy, the rule of law and people-centric governance.

‎According to an official statement, Prime Minister Modi and King Harald V discussed the impressive strides made by Indian and Norwegian companies across diverse sectors, especially in emerging and new technologies. The interaction reflected the growing depth of India-Norway ties as both countries seek to expand cooperation in areas such as green transition, maritime industries, digital innovation, sustainability and advanced technology.

‎The audience at the Royal Palace was followed by a luncheon hosted by His Majesty King Harald V in honour of Prime Minister Modi.

‎Prime Minister Modi thanked the King for the gracious hospitality extended to him during the visit.
‎Modi’s engagement with the Norwegian monarch comes amid a broader push to strengthen India’s strategic and economic engagement with the Nordic region. India and Norway have steadily expanded cooperation in clean energy, ocean economy, climate action, Arctic research, shipping, innovation and digital technologies in recent years.

‎The visit also coincides with efforts by New Delhi and Oslo to deepen collaboration under the newly announced India-Norway Green Strategic Partnership, which aims to bring together India’s scale and technological talent with Norway’s expertise in sustainability, energy transition and maritime innovation.
