Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended warm greetings to over 51,000 newly appointed youth across India as part of the Rozgar Mela, calling it a celebration not just of jobs but of India’s ongoing journey towards a “Viksit Bharat.”
Addressing the event via videoconference, Modi hailed the timing of the appointments during Diwali — a festival symbolizing light and hope — as a “double dose of joy” for the appointees and their families.“
“This year’s Diwali has brought new illumination into everyone’s lives,” PM Modi said as he distributed the appointment letters to over 51,000 candidates. “Amidst the festive celebrations, receiving appointment letters for permanent jobs adds immense happiness. I congratulate all the youth who have been given this opportunity and wish them success in their new roles,” he added.
Highlighting the significance of this milestone, the Prime Minister emphasized, “The enthusiasm, hard work, and confidence born from fulfilling dreams, when combined with a passion to serve the nation, transform personal success into a victory for India.” He reminded the new appointees that their roles are not just government jobs but a chance to actively participate in nation-building. “Work with integrity, sincerity, and uphold the spirit of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava,’” PM Modi urged.
Tracing India’s progress under his leadership, PM Modi said, “For the past 11 years, the nation has marched ahead with the youth playing a pivotal role in building a developed India. Rozgar Melas have become a powerful platform to fulfill the aspirations of young Indians, with over 11 lakh appointment letters issued in recent times.”
The Prime Minister also outlined ambitious employment initiatives such as the ‘PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana,’ aimed at creating 3.5 crore jobs, and praised skill-building programs like the Skill India Mission and the National Career Service platform, which has already disseminated information about over 7 crore vacancies.In a landmark announcement, PM Modi unveiled the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal,’ designed to offer opportunities to candidates who reached the final stage of UPSC exams but were not selected.
“Their talents will not go to waste; public and private institutions are now engaging with these bright minds through this portal,” he said, emphasizing India’s commitment to harnessing youth potential.
PM Modi also linked the festivities to economic reforms, noting the impact of the recent GST Bachat Utsav. “The GST rate cuts have not only saved consumers thousands of crores but are also transforming into an ‘Employment Festival.’ Cheaper goods boost demand, which accelerates production and job creation, especially benefiting MSMEs and retail sectors,” he explained, pointing to record-breaking sales during Dhanteras and Diwali.
Reflecting on India’s demographic advantage, the Prime Minister said, “India is the youngest country globally, and our youth are our greatest asset. This strength shapes not only our domestic progress but also our foreign policy.”
He highlighted recent global partnerships and agreements with countries like the UK, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada, which are expected to create thousands of jobs and open new avenues for Indian youth on the world stage.
Wrapping up his address, PM Modi urged the newly appointed officers to embrace the ‘i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform’ for continuous learning and fostering a culture of good governance. “Your dedication will shape India’s future and fulfill the dreams of millions,” Modi said.The Rozgar Mela, held amidst the glow of Diwali, symbolizes a beacon of hope and progress, marking a milestone in India’s relentless pursuit of inclusive growth and youth empowerment.
