PM Modi: India Now the Fastest-Growing Major Economy in the World

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that India has become the fastest-growing major economy globally, marking a significant milestone in the country’s economic journey.

“Today, India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world. In the last 11 years, our economy has risen from 10th place to the top five. We are now moving rapidly towards becoming one of the top three economies,” PM Modi said, addressing a public gathering in Bengaluru today.

PM Modi was addressing the gathering after flagging off three Vande Bharat Express trains and inaugurating the Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro.

Speaking on the nation’s progress, PM Modi highlighted the remarkable growth trajectory over the last 11 years.

India’s economy has climbed from 10th place to the top five in just over a decade, showcasing the country’s rapid economic advancement.

PM Modi emphasised that India is now moving swiftly towards becoming one of the top three economies in the world, reflecting the government’s ambitious growth targets.

The Prime Minister stressed that the journey towards a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) will progress in tandem with the Digital India initiative, underscoring the importance of technology in driving growth. “The journey to a Viksit Bharat will move forward hand in hand with Digital India,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

PM Modi identified becoming self-reliant in technology as a key priority for the future, highlighting the need for India to reduce dependence on foreign technologies and develop its own innovative solutions. “Our next big priority should be becoming self-reliant in tech,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the government’s focus on sustainable economic growth, technological advancement, and self-reliance. As India continues on its path to becoming a developed nation, the emphasis on digital innovation and self-sufficiency in technology will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s future.
