PM Modi Hails Tisza Party Victory, Eyes Stronger India-Hungary and EU Partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Peter Magyar and his Tisza Party on their decisive victory in Hungary’s recent elections, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening bilateral and strategic ties between the two countries.

‎In a message posted on X, Modi said, “Heartiest congratulations to Mr. Peter Magyar and the Tisza Party on your resounding election victory.” He underscored the enduring relationship between India and Hungary, describing it as one rooted in “deep-rooted friendship, shared values and enduring mutual respect.”

Expressing confidence in future cooperation, the Prime Minister said he looked forward to working closely with Magyar to deepen engagement across sectors. “I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation and to advance the vital India-EU Strategic Partnership for the shared prosperity and well-being of our peoples,” he added.

‎India and Hungary have long enjoyed cordial ties, with growing collaboration in areas such as trade, education, culture and technology. Hungary remains a key partner for India in Central Europe, with both nations seeking to expand their economic and diplomatic footprint.

‎Modi’s remarks also highlighted the significance of the European Union as a crucial strategic partner for India. The India-EU Strategic Partnership has gathered momentum in recent years, with a focus on trade, climate action, digital transformation and global governance.

‎The Prime Minister’s message reflects New Delhi’s intent to further deepen ties with Budapest under its new leadership while continuing to strengthen engagement with the wider European bloc.
