Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his wishes to devotees across the country, particularly in Bihar, as the four-day grand festival of Chhath Puja commenced with the sacred ritual of Nahay-Khay.
“With the sacred ritual of Nahay-Khay, the four-day grand festival of Chhath is commencing auspiciously from today,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
The Prime Minister wished the devotees a joyous celebration, saying, “My heartfelt best wishes to the devotees across the country, including Bihar.” He also paid his respects to the observers of the fast, saying, “My salutations and homage to all the observers of the fast!”
Chhath Puja is a significant festival in Indian culture, particularly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and other eastern states. The festival is dedicated to the Sun God and observed to thank him for sustaining life on earth, as well as to seek his blessings for the well-being of family and friends.
