PM Modi Extends Heartfelt Wishes to Citizens on Chhath Puja

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday extended his heartfelt wishes to citizens on the occasion of Chhath Puja, a festival dedicated to the Sun God and revered for its spiritual and cultural significance. In a heartfelt message on handle X, PM Modi wished for the welfare, happiness, and prosperity of all citizens, invoking the blessings of Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya.

“Heartfelt Chhath Puja evening arghya wishes to all my family members across the country. On this sacred occasion, our tradition of offering arghya to the setting sun is very unique. May there be welfare for all by the grace of Lord Surya, may everyone attain happiness, prosperity, and success in life, this is the wish. Jai Chhathi Maiya!” PM Modi said.

Chhath Puja is a significant festival in Indian culture, particularly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, where devotees offer prayers to the rising and setting sun. The festival is a celebration of nature, spirituality, and community bonding, reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.

PM Modi’s message highlights the importance of Chhath Puja in promoting social harmony and cultural unity. In his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, PM Modi had also emphasised that Chhath Puja is a reflection of India’s deep unity between culture, nature, and society, where people from all sections of society come together to celebrate the festival.

The Prime Minister’s wishes come as citizens across the country prepare to observe the final day of Chhath Puja, offering arghya to the rising sun and seeking blessings for prosperity and happiness.
