Parliamentary Affairs Ministry to hold NeVA conference on Thursday

Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is set to host the 3rd National Conference on the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) on October 30, 2025, in New Delhi.

The conference aims to accelerate the adoption of paperless legislative processes across the country, a government release stated on Wednesday.

The NeVA, a Mission Mode Project under the flagship Digital India Programme, seeks to transform all State Legislatures into fully paperless entities by integrating 37 Legislative Houses onto a single digital platform.

This push for digitalization is intended to enhance transparency, efficiency, and public engagement in the democratic process.

The upcoming conference will bring together over 100 participants, including Secretaries of Legislative Houses and Nodal Departments from various State Governments. The discussions will center on crucial areas to enhance the project’s success.

These include reviewing progress by assessing the current status of NeVA implementation and sharing best practices from fully digitized Houses, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline legislative processes, improve data accessibility, and automate routine tasks, addressing technical and operational challenges encountered during deployment, and strategizing to accelerate the onboarding of the remaining Legislative Houses onto the NeVA platform.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, and Minister of State, L Murugan, are scheduled to attend and address the occasion. The conference marks a pivotal step toward transforming India’s legislative institutions into fully digital, efficient, and transparent entities, strongly supporting the national goals of Digital India and Good Governance.
