Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, on Tuesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and briefed him on Operation Mahadev, during which three Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack were killed on Monday. He was accompanied by Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 15 Corps.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police on the success of Operation Mahadev.
This crucial operation, executed in the challenging Dachigam forest, resulted in the elimination of three Pakistani terrorists responsible for the heinous Pahalgam terror attack.
The GOC-in-C of the Northern Command informed that search operations had been continuing in South Kashmir’s Dachigam forest areas for the past few months. There were persistent reports about terrorists hiding in this area.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, special teams were recently activated, and a joint operation was launched by the Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force. With significant assistance from intelligence agencies, the three Pakistani terrorists were eliminated.
