Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said on Sunday that two drops of the polio vaccine not only safeguard a child for life but also form the foundation of a healthy, strong, and self-reliant nation.

CM Dr Yadav inaugurated the three-day Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign (October 12–14) on Sunday morning at his official residence in Bhopal by administering polio drops to 12 children, marking the formal launch of the drive. He said that the fight against polio will continue successfully only if every parent ensures their child receives the two essential drops each time.

Appealing to all parents, he said that no child should be left without the protection of the polio vaccine.

CM Dr Yadav stated that a disease like polio can make a child dependent for life; therefore, its complete eradication is the duty of every citizen.

He informed that during the three-day campaign being conducted in 18 districts of the state, over 64,000 vaccinators will administer polio drops through more than 24,000 Pulse Polio booths. Additionally, teams will go door-to-door to ensure that every child receives the vaccine and remains safe and healthy throughout life.

CM Dr Yadav further informed that more than 39.19 lakh children in the targeted age group across these 18 selected districts will be given the polio vaccine.

CM Dr Yadav added that Madhya Pradesh is moving firmly ahead in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Healthy and Strong India’. He emphasised that public participation is the greatest strength of this campaign and expressed confidence that with collective effort, Madhya Pradesh will soon become completely polio-free.

Under the campaign launched on Sunday, polio drops will be administered to children from October 12 to 14 in the districts of Anuppur, Betul, Bhind, Bhopal, Chhindwara, Datia, Dewas, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Katni, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandla, Mandsaur, Morena, Narsinghpur, and Neemuch.
