Marking the completion of three years of the ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday disbursed the scheme’s 36th installment of Rs 1,835 crore into the bank accounts of 1.25 crore beneficiary women.
The CM transferred the amount by a single click at a grand Laadli Behna function held at village Mungwani in the Narsinghpur district of the state.
Dr Yadav asserted that the respect and welfare of mothers and sisters is the top priority of the BJP state government. He noted that the Laadli Behna Yojana is one of the major schemes aimed at benefiting women. He pointed out that in the past three years, the state government has paid more than Rs 55000 crore to women beneficiaries of the scheme.
On the occasion, the CM also laid the foundation stones of, and inaugurated 40 public welfare and development works worth Rs 296 crore for the district.
