Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping shared laughter and camaraderie during the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China on Monday, sending a clear message to US President Donald Trump about the rise of a new world order amid his “bullying” behaviour.

With the global attention fixed on the SCO Summit, the three leaders were seen sharing a laughter and having a pull-aside conversation ahead of the family photo session of SCO members.

Modi and Putin warmly hugged each other and were soon joined by Xi, reflecting the camaraderie among the three leaders. The Prime Minister also shared the photos on his X handle.

“Interactions in Tianjin continue! Exchanging perspectives with President Putin and President Xi during the SCO Summit,” Modi wrote.

Later in the day, PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the SCO Summit.

Earlier on Sunday, he held a similar meeting with Xi, where both leaders agreed to take the India-China bilateral relations forward with mutual respect, trust and sensitivity.

The Prime Minister will also address the plenary session of the SCO Summit where he will “outline India’s approach to fostering regional cooperation under the SCO umbrella.”
