Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has alleged that rival political parties are engaged in continued conspiracies to weaken the BSP and its leadership.
Addressing a high-level review meeting here on Sunday, she claimed that these parties are secretly collaborating and resorting to manipulation, defamation, and other underhanded tactics to erode the BSP’s support base.
The meeting, attended by senior party leaders and office-bearers from across Uttar Pradesh, was convened to assess the progress of the party’s ongoing campaign to strengthen its organisational structure from the district to booth level.
Mayawati emphasised that these conspiracies aim to strip Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, Muslims, and other marginalised groups of their constitutional and legal rights, and to prevent them from emerging as a strong political force in the country.
Raising concerns over the rise in communal tensions and incidents of disrespect towards religious sites and spiritual leaders of various faiths, the BSP chief called on governments to shun divisive politics and take strict legal action to maintain peace, justice, and social harmony.
On the economic front, Mayawati criticised the ruling BJP government for failing to effectively respond to international challenges, particularly the 50 per cent “Trump Tariff” imposed by the United States.
She warned that this economic strain could worsen poverty, inflation, unemployment, illiteracy, and forced migration, especially among the Bahujan masses, and could damage India’s global standing. She urged the central government to introduce significant policy reforms that prioritise national interest.
Expressing satisfaction with the party’s organisational drive, Mayawati noted that 80 per cent of the set targets have been achieved. She issued new directives to complete the remaining work following the upcoming statewide commemorative event on October 9, marking the death anniversary of BSP founder and Bahujan movement icon Kanshi Ram.
The BSP has announced that this year’s memorial program will be held at the grand Manyawar Kanshi Ram Smarak Sthal on VIP Road in Lucknow. Mayawati will personally lead the event, which will not only pay tribute to Kanshi Ram’s legacy but also serve as a platform to discuss key political strategies and challenges ahead.
This will be the party’s first major state-level gathering since the recent organisational restructuring at both the Uttar Pradesh and national levels. Thousands of BSP workers from across the state are expected to attend. As per tradition, arrangements have been made to accommodate participants arriving a day before the event.
The BSP also reiterated the significance of the monumental sites constructed during previous BSP governments, dedicated to social reformers such as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Sri Narayana Guru, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj, Dr B R Ambedkar, and Kanshi Ram. These sites, the party said, are considered sacred spaces by followers of the Bahujan movement.
This year’s programme also marks the reopening of the Smarak Sthal for public events after a prolonged period of maintenance and renovation. In recent years, limited access has forced supporters to pay homage outside the site, at a portrait of Kanshi Ram, rather than his iconic statue under the dome.
