BSP supremo Mayawati will hold a major public rally in Lucknow on October 9 to mark the death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram.

This will be her first significant rally since 2021, signaling an effort to revive the party’s organizational strength and political base in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the district panchayat elections next year and the state Assembly elections in 2027.

The rally, to be held at the Kanshi Ram Memorial Site on Old Jail Road, is being seen as a bid to re-energize the cadre and showcase the party’s strength in Uttar Pradesh.

To ensure successful execution of the rally, a 10-member committee has been formed under the leadership of BSP National General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, who will oversee all preparations.Mayawati appears determined to signal that the party remains a force to reckon with.

Key members include State President Vishwanath Pal, Mewa Lal Gautam, Ram Autar Mittal, Dhanshyam Kharwar, Munquad Ali, Naushad Ali, Akhilesh Ambedkar, Shailendra Gautam, and Girish Jatav. The entire BSP unit of Lucknow district has also been mobilized for the event.

The move comes at a critical juncture for the Bahujan Samaj Party, which has witnessed erosion in its support base and leadership over recent years. Several senior leaders have left the party, and its electoral performance has steadily declined.

The party aims to draw lakhs of supporters from across the state, using the rally as both a show of strength and a signal of its intent to regain political relevance in Uttar Pradesh.

In a strategic organizational move, Mayawati has appointed former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth as the Central Coordinator for four crucial states: Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Gujarat.
