Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam participated in the famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh ghat here on Thursday evening.
Ramgoolam arrived at Dashashwamedh Ghat by Vivekananda Cruise from Ravidas ghat. He participated in Ganga Aarti along with his wife and 70 delegates .
This time, the Aarti is being performed on the rooftop due to floods.
The PM of Mauritius offered flowers to the Ganga and took her blessings. He captured these moments on his mobile and took a selfie with his wife. He said he is very happy to see the welcome of Kashi given to him and its grandeur. When asked to say two words in Bhojpuri, he smiled and proceeded after saying ‘Mahadev’.

The world famous Ganga Aarti was performed by five priests at Dashashwamedh Ghat. First Dhoop Aarti was performed, then Jhaal Aarti and after Nag Aarti, Shanti Paath was recited. The priests made the PM wear a Rudraksha garland and red peda was given as prasad.
Governor Anandiben Patel and minister-in-charge Suresh Khanna welcomed him on the cruise at Ravidas Ghat. Divisional Commissioner S Raj Lingam, Commissioner and District Magistrate are also present with the PM of Mauritius. The cruise was decorated with flags and flowers of both the countries.
Earlier in the day, the Mauritius PM held bilateral talks with the Indian PM and MoUs between the two countries were signed.
Later in the night, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will organise a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary. The menu of the dinner will have several local recipes including Chaat, Lassi,chickpea tikki and several kinds of sweets including the famous Jaunpuri Imarti.
Tomorrow morning, the Mauritius PM will visit Shri Kashi Vishwanath and thereafter will leave for Ayodhya.
