Arun Gowda and BV Aishwarya, Kannada actors, scolded a family for not standing up during the national anthem in a cinema hall in Bengaluru.

A video that has been circulating on social media shows a family being heckled for not standing up for the national anthem at PVR Orion Mall during the screening of the Tamil film Asuran, Hindustan Times reported.

Aishwarya had reportedly shared the video on her Facebook page which was later deleted.

Shashi Kumar, Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police, North, spoke to news agency IANS about the footage shared by BV Aishwarya.

“There hasn’t been anything of the kind that when the national anthem was being played, they are not standing.”

“Nobody has come forward to lodge a complaint. Neither the individuals who objected nor the individuals who were heckled or the cinema hall management,” the DCP added.

In the video, Aishwarya can be seen stating that if they cannot stand up, they can leave the hall.

Arun, on the other hand, points towards the family and is heard saying, “When the national anthem came on, these guys didn’t stand. Look at these guys. Just look at their faces once again. They are telling us to file a complaint”.
