A man allegedly stabbed his elder brother and sister-in-law to death on the road over a family property dispute in Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh on Friday afternoon.
The ghastly incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Ghamaur police station.
As per the police, the accused Bablu Chaudhary had a dispute with his elder brother Sanjay Chaudhary over a piece of land belonging to their late grandfather, located behind their family house.
Sanjay had carried out some construction on that piece of land, but Bablu contested that he also had ownership rights on the said land.
The two brothers had repeated arguments and verbal quarrels over the issue for the past few months.
On Friday at around noon, Bablu came to Sanjay’s house and called him. As soon as Sanjay came out onto the road, Bablu took out a knife and immediately began stabbing Sanjay repeatedly.
Sanjay collapsed on the road in a pool of blood. Bablu then entered the house and stabbed Sanjay’s wife, Babita, to death, too.
Bablu then fled from the spot.
The neighbours informed the police about the incident. A police team reached the spot and sent both the bodies to the hospital.
A case has been registered and the police are in search of the absconding accused Bablu.
