Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) on Thursday declared the Class 10 examination results, recording an overall pass percentage of 89.6 per cent, with girls outperforming boys in the state board examinations.
HBSE Chairman Dr Pawan Kumar said that a total of 2,76,640 students had appeared in the matriculation examinations this year, out of whom 2,47,860 students successfully cleared the exams. He said 16 students secured positions in the state merit list.
Deepika, a student of Adarsh Senior Secondary School in Bhiwani, emerged as the state topper by scoring 499 marks out of 500. Her father, Rajkumar, works as a clerk in the same school. According to the family, Deepika relied mainly on self-study and secured full marks in four subjects while scoring 99 in one paper.
Four students jointly secured the second rank with 498 marks each. These include Raunak from Charkhi Dadri, Khushi and Antu from Hisar, and Dipanshu from Mahendragarh. Eleven students jointly secured the third rank with 497 marks each.
The board said Charkhi Dadri topped the district-wise results in terms of pass percentage, followed by Jind and Mahendragarh. Nuh district recorded the lowest performance in the state. HBSE officials stated that this year’s Class 10 results were lower than the previous two years. The pass percentage stood at 95.22 in 2024 and 92.49 in 2025.
Girls outperformed boys in the examinations. Of the 1,43,110 boys who appeared, 1,25,493 passed, taking the boys’ pass percentage to 87.69. Among 1,33,530 girls who took the examination, 1,22,367 cleared it, resulting in a pass percentage of 91.64, which was 3.95 percentage points higher than that of boys.
The board also noted that students from rural areas performed better than their urban counterparts. Rural areas recorded a pass percentage of 90.25, while urban areas stood at 87.94. Private schools achieved a pass percentage of 92.45, compared to 87.23 in government schools.
HBSE has provided students with the facility to apply online for rechecking and re-evaluation within 20 days from the declaration of results.
In the Kurukshetra district, student Trisha secured the top position with 491 marks, followed by Isha with 488 marks and Deepika with 487 marks. The district recorded a pass percentage of 91.35, marking a decline of 4.87 percentage points from last year’s 96.22 per cent.
The board also announced the results of Haryana Open School secondary fresh, re-appear and CTP examinations. In the fresh category, 5,772 candidates appeared, and only 645 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 11.17. Girls performed marginally better than boys in this category as well.
In the re-appear and CTP category, 3,957 candidates appeared, and 1,885 students passed, taking the overall result to 47.64 per cent.
HBSE further declared the results of the D.El.Ed reappeared, and mercy chance examinations were held in February-March 2026. A total of 5,315 student-teachers appeared in the examination. The first-year result for the 2023-25 batch stood at 62.50 per cent, while the second-year result was 81.76 per cent. The first-year result for the 2024-26 batch was recorded at 65.13 per cent.
Among district toppers, Payal of Noble Dev School, Nand Rampur, topped Rewari district with 495 marks. Baby Ayesha of Sant Kabir School, Alawalpur, and Shailesh of Tagore School, Gudiani, also secured 495 marks to jointly top the district.
Hisar district witnessed strong performances by girl students, with five girls featuring in the state’s top-three merit list. Khushi and Antu from Hisar secured second rank in the state, while Diksha, Sakshi and Sakomal jointly figured among the third-rank holders.
Dipanshu from Narnaul said he aims to pursue non-medical studies in Class 11 and dreams of studying at IIT. Khushi from Hansi credited her success to self-study without private tuition, while Antu said she had been academically strong since childhood and received guidance from her father, who runs a school in her village.
Meanwhile, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Farrukhnagar in Gurugram, recorded a 100 per cent result in the CBSE Class 12 examinations. School principal Radha Krishna Panwar said students delivered outstanding performances across subjects, with student Ahana scoring 100 out of 100 in Yoga and topping the school merit list with 95.4 per cent marks.
