Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday was celebrated with great fervor across Uttar Pradesh. From spiritual offerings in Varanasi and Prayagraj to welfare activities and political statements in Lucknow, events were held throughout the state reflecting devotion, patriotism, and public engagement.
In Varanasi, the holy city of Kashi and parliamentary constituency of PM Modi, celebrations were marked by religious rituals, community welfare programs, and cleanliness initiatives. A cleanliness drive from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Chowk to Kachahari Chowk was led by Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal, along with advocate Ashok Kumar and members of the Scheduled Caste Morcha.
Namami Gange members performed an aarti to Mother Ganga, offering a 75-meter-long chunari bearing the Prime Minister’s image, symbolizing purity and prosperity.
In Prayagraj, celebrations were conducted as part of the Seva Pakhwada (service fortnight). Ashrams and Gurukuls took part in rituals at Shringaverpur Dham, led by Jagatguru Ramanujacharya Swami Shandilya Ji Maharaj. Vedic Brahmins offered oblations in a havan ritual, praying for the Prime Minister’s health, long life, and leadership.
In Lucknow, official celebrations were accompanied by protests highlighting unemployment concerns. Students from Lucknow University, under the joint initiative of the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and NSUI, staged an “Unemployment Procession” at IT Crossing. Wearing headbands and carrying plates, students raised slogans accusing the government of failing to provide jobs promised in its election campaigns.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt greetings, describing PM Modi’s leadership as an inspiration for hope, self-reliance, and national welfare. In a social media post, he wrote, “Hearty congratulations to the successful Prime Minister, bearer of the hopes and aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Your efforts have taken ‘New India’ to new heights.”
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, in his greeting to the PM, said,” Heartiest congratulations to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on his birthday with best wishes for a healthy, meaningful, harmonious, inclusive and positive life”.
Similarly, BSP chief Mayawati in her message said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on his birthday today and also pray to God for his good health and long life”.
