Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Thursday sent four out of seventeen accused, arrested for protesting at India Gate and raising pro-Naxal slogans, to two days of police custody.
The Delhi Police stated that they need to confront the accused with each other to unearth the entire conspiracy.
Police had sought the remand of five accused, a move opposed by the defense counsel. The court, however, granted police custody for four of them.
The four individuals sent to police custody have been identified as Gurkirat, Raujot, Kranti Grover, and Avinash.
The court sent the remaining 13 accused to one-day judicial custody.
The bail petitions for these 13 accused will be heard tomorrow by the Patiala House Court, which has also sought a response from the Delhi Police on the matter.
Two separate FIRs have been lodged in this matter with the Parliament Street Police Station and the Tughlak Road Police Station. The court was hearing the case related to the Parliament Street Police Station.
