Once again, due to torrential rains in the mountains and plains, flood water has started rising in many districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to make adequate arrangements so that no person has to face any eventuality due to the floods. Also, the people of flood-affected areas should be shifted to safer places immediately. Also, their every need should be fulfilled.
The chief minister has also instructed the officials to make special arrangements for the cattle.
Currently 22 districts of the state are affected by flash floods, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, Auraiya, Bahraich, Banda, Mirzapur, Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Fatehpur, Kanpur Nagar, Barabanki, Badaun, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hardoi, Kasganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Shahjahanpur and Unnao. Relief work is going on at a fast pace in all these districts.
Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said here on Tuesday that currently 43 tehsils and 768 villages of 22 districts of the state have been affected by the floods. A total of 2,52,839 people are affected by the floods in these areas, who have been provided relief assistance. At the same time, 33,370 cattle have been shifted to a safe place due to the floods.
More than 37,279 hectares of area in the state has been affected by the floods. Relief material is being delivered to these affected areas with the help of 550 boats and motorboats. Over 6,458 food packets and 7,143 lunch packets have been distributed in these areas on Tuesday.
The UP government is taking full care of the safety and food of the cattle along with the victims in the flood affected areas. A total of 278 flood shelters are active in the flood affected areas, where 3,089 people are residing temporarily. All of them are being medically checked by 586 medical teams. Along with this, 1,022 flood posts have been established, which are monitoring the situation of the affected areas.
