A Delhi University undergraduate student was allegedly drugged and gang-raped for three days in Lucknow, police said on Sunday.
The victim, who is also preparing for the UPSC examination, was travelling from Jaunpur to Delhi when she allegedly got off the train at Charbagh railway station in Lucknow after being persuaded by one of the accused.
According to the police, the accused took the victim to his rented accommodation in the Sushant Golf City area, where he allegedly mixed sleeping pills in her coffee, rendering her unconscious.
Police said the accused, along with one of his friends, allegedly gang-raped the woman. Later, another person reportedly joined them, and the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted repeatedly for three days.
The incident reportedly took place on May 15.
According to police sources, the accused later sent the woman to Delhi on the Suheldev Express from Charbagh railway station on May 18.
The victim informed her family about the incident while travelling on the train, following which they contacted the Government Railway Police (GRP). A case was subsequently registered at Anand Vihar police station in Delhi.
A medical examination of the victim was conducted in Delhi, and a Zero FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case was later transferred to Sushant Golf City police station in Lucknow for further investigation.
Lucknow Police said on Sunday that an FIR has been registered against Shivam Yadav, Sunny Yadav and an unidentified person on charges of gang rape, wrongful confinement and administering intoxicating substances.
Police officials said four teams have been constituted to arrest the accused, and efforts are underway to trace them. The accused are expected to be arrested soon, police added.
