The Allahabad High Court on Thursday posted for next week hearing into the petition filed by fugitive kingpin Shubham Jaiswal in the Codeine cough syrup smuggling case.
Jaiswal, who is on the run, had moved a petition for anticipatory bail.
The division bench comprising Justice Siddharth Verma and Justice Achal Sachdev heard the case on Thursday, and now the hearing will continue next week.
However, the government informed the court that sections of the NDPS Act have been added to the case.
Jaiswal, an accused in cases registered in Varanasi and Ghaziabad, filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court. His father, Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, already arrested from Kolkata, had also challenged the case registered in Varanasi in the High Court.
A case has been registered against Shubham Jaiswal, his father, and 28 others at the Kotwali police station in Varanasi.
The FIR was registered on November 15.
