Bomb threat at Kerala CM’s official residence turns out to be hoax

Kerala Chief Minister’s official residence, Cliff House, received a bomb threat on Monday.

The threat message was sent to the Chief Minister’s private secretary via email. A similar threat message was also received at the South Indian Bank branch at Palayam.

Following this, the Police, along with bomb squads and canine units conducted security checks at the Cliff House, and at the South Indian Bank branch at Palayam .However, no suspicious objects were found during the searches. Police later confirmed that the alert turned out to be a hoax.

Police said the emails were sent using dark web applications, making it difficult to trace the accused.A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Police officials said similar emails claiming explosives at the CM’s residence have been received multiple times in the past.
