CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said on Saturday that the BJP has not only removed Nitish Kumar from power but has also overturned his entire political discourse and model of governance.
Addressing the media in Patna, he alleged that in Bihar, attempts are now being made to replace “good governance” with a model based on bulldozers and encounters, development with displacement, and communal harmony with hatred, mob lynching, and violence.
He further claimed that repressive actions against Dalits, the poor, minorities, women, students, youth, and workers were being made the “new normal.”
Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the bulldozer had become a symbol of BJP rule. He alleged that bulldozers were not being used against mafias, corrupt individuals, or major criminals, but against the poor, street vendors, slum dwellers, and Muslims. He further alleged that such actions were being carried out by bypassing legal and judicial procedures.
He said that while unemployment was at its peak, recruitment examinations were repeatedly being hit by paper leaks. From Delhi to Patna, he alleged, the education system had fallen under the control of mafias and corruption. He claimed that paper leaks in competitive examinations like NEET were not merely administrative failures, but the result of an organised criminal network operating under political protection.
He alleged that the future of millions of students and youth was being ruined.
He also strongly reacted to the reported use of the word “cockroach” for students and youth by the Chief Justice of India, calling it an attack on the dignity of the younger generation. He said that no one had the right to insult youth who were unemployed, whose examination papers were being leaked, and who were being subjected to police baton charges.
The Left leader also said that students and youth across the country, especially Gen Z, were deeply angry. He said this anger was visible on social media in the form of the phrase “Cockroach Janata Party.”
Condemning the lathi-charge on teacher aspirants in Patna, he said the government was choosing repression instead of dialogue and resolution.
He demanded the resignation of the Union and Bihar education ministers, saying those responsible for destroying the education system should be held accountable.
