The Election Commission Friday announced that no re-polls are recommended following the post-poll scrutiny of Phase-I of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025.

This comes after a thorough examination of Form 17A (Register of Voters) and other poll-day documents across all 121 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) that went to polls in the first phase.

In a press note, the ECI highlighted that the scrutiny process was conducted smoothly with full transparency to detect any subtle malpractices at polling stations. The Commission had issued consolidated instructions and informed all candidates in advance about the scrutiny schedule, including date, time, and venue.

The scrutiny was overseen by 121 Returning Officers (ROs) and 121 General Observers (GOs) appointed by the Commission, with active participation from around 455 candidates or their agents. The entire process was video-graphed to ensure accountability.

After meticulous review, no discrepancies or malpractices were found at any polling station, leading the Commission to conclude that re-polls are unnecessary for Phase-I of the elections. Following scrutiny, Forms 17A and related materials were securely resealed under the Returning Officers’ seals, the poll panel said.
