The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will deeply review this result and make their efforts to save democracy even more effective," Rahul posts on X.

'Congress a parasite, wants to make a comeback by swallowing vote bank of allies': PM

In a scathing attack on the Congress, Modi said that the grand old party is a "parasite", adding it "wants to make a comeback by swallowing the vote bank of its allies."

"Even the Congress allies are beginning to understand that the Congress is drowning everyone in its negative politics. That is why, during the Bihar elections, I said that the 'naamdar' of the Congress is practising to drown himself and others in the Bihar elections by taking a dip in the pond," he added.

On AIMIM's victory in five seats in Bihar, party Chief Asaduddin Owaisi says, "I want to thank the people of Seemanchal from the bottom of my heart for making our 5 candidates win again... We started this fight for Seemanchal 11 years ago, and we are still fighting for justice for Seemanchal... I want to congratulate Naveen Yadav for winning the Jubilee Hills by-elections and also thank CM Revanth Reddy, who congratulated me for today's victory in Bihar... I was expecting NDA to win big, but not as big as 200... Whatever it is, it is the verdict of the people of Bihar, and we have to accept it wholeheartedly. I congratulate Nitish Kumar as well, and if he really wants to focus on developing Seemanchal, we will have constructive cooperation. I will continue to visit Seemanchal."

BREAKING: Tejashwi wins Raghopur seat

Tejashwi Yadav has won the Raghopur Assembly constituency after a see-saw battle.

Bihar youth have destroyed the 'communal MY formula of Jungle Raj': Modi

Attacking the RJD and the Congress, Prime Minister Modi reiterated that the "Katta Sarkar" will never return to Bihar.

"When I used to speak about Jungle Raj and Katta Sarkar in Bihar elections, the RJD party raised no objections. But it hurt the people of Congress. Today, I want to reiterate that Katta Sarkar will never return to Bihar...The people of Bihar have voted for Viksit Bihar...," he said.

In an indirect reference to the alleged Muslim and Yadav (MY) appeasement of the RJD, Modi said, "Some parties in Bihar had created the appeasement formula of MY. But today's victory has given a new positive MY formula, and that is Mahila and Youth."

Modi said that that desire, aspiration and dreams of the youth has destroyed the communal "MY" formula of the "Jungle Raj people".

"Today, Bihar is among those states of the country which have the highest number of youth, and this includes youth from every religion and every caste. Their desire, their aspiration and their dreams have completely destroyed the old communal MY formula of the Jungle Raj people...," he said.

Modi also expressed his gratitude to the people of Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir and Nuapada in Odisha for ensuring BJP's victory in bypolls.

"Today is not just a victory for the NDA, it is also a victory for democracy. It is a victory for those who believe in Indian democracy. This election has further strengthened the public's trust in the Election Commission of India," he added.

Addressing BJP workers, Modi says we are the servant of the people. "We keep making the people happy with our hard work and we have stolen the hearts of the people. And that is why the entire Bihar has said 'Phir ek baar NDA Sarkar'..."

Now PM Modi has started speaking. He was welcomed by workers with a loud cheer.

"Today's results have given us the highest strike rate. You (Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi) had mentioned much earlier in an election rally to wait for November 14, that on that day the people of Bihar will give a clear message, and the people of Bihar have given a clear message," Nadda says.

Nadda calls Bihar Election Results 2025 a 'tsunami'

"This tsunami has made it clear that whether it is the people of Bihar or the people of the country, everyone has unwavering faith in the honorable Prime Minister ji, and to take the state forward, he has put a stamp on the politics of development," he says.

Following NDA's landslide victory in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, BJP national president JP Nadda is addressing party workers at party headquarters in New Delhi.

PM Narendra Modi has arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi to celebrate the NDA's win in Bihar Assembly Elections. He will address the BJP workers there shortly.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has thanked the people of Bihar for showing faith in his party. AIMIM has won 4 seats and is leading on 1 seat.

"I want to thank the people of Bihar for voting for AIMIM. I also want to thank and congratulate all the candidates and party members on those 5 seats for working so hard... We accept the mandate of the people of Bihar. I also want to thank CM Nitish Kumar. We will work for the welfare of Seemanchal... I had always said that RJD cannot stop BJP. People of Bihar were misled on the M-Y combination, and I want to appeal to them not to vote for these fascist forces."

Bihar results not people's mandate, says Karnataka min Priyank Kharge

"It is extremely surprising and is not something we had expected. Since the verdict is out, let us see what happened and what the reasons are for it. Definitely unexpected and extremely surprising... I am not ready to accept this mandate. There is always winning and losing but this kind of verdict is not acceptable. We have done our ground reality check before giving tickets... This entire thing is not the people's mandate...," Kharge said.

Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary has won the election from Tarapur by a margin of 45,843 votes.

J&K CM Omar Abdullah reflected on the NDA's win in Bihar and said Nitish Kumar's move to launch schemes for the women worked in the alliance's favour.

"After the 'vote-chori' yatra, Congress felt that they would get success on far more seats... But looking at the result, instead of falling prey to anti-incumbency, Nitish Kumar turned it into incumbency and took advantage of being in power. It is not a small thing to become the CM for the 10th time. It would be good if other governments learned from him as well. One thing is for sure, Nitish Kumar kept caste aside, and launched schemes for the women, which benefited him greatly..."

RJD chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav leaves from his residence

So far, the Election Commission has declared results for 99 seats, of which the NDA has won 85 and the Mahagathbandhan 10.

VIP chief and Mahagathbandhan's Deputy CM face Mukesh Sahni says 'accept this mandate for now'

Reacting to the NDA's landslide victory in the Bihar Election trends, Mukesh Sahni said, "For now, we accept this mandate... We congratulate the NDA... We never imagined that they would win in such a way... We will further examine the reasons behind this soon."

He said that women of all castes and religions trusted Nitish Kumar because it was his last election and the message reached the people that they would get another Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand.

"Money has always been dominant on this earth. In the past, poor people used to sell their votes. In the dark of night, wealthy and powerful people used to distribute money and steal the mandate... We have made people aware... They don't sell their votes at night anymore. But now that old pattern has changed. Illegal activities are being carried out legally in broad daylight... People have voted for the sake of Rs 10,000 and Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand, ignoring thousands of other problems like unemployment. But I salute the decision that the public and the women have taken. I have no comment on it...," Sahni stated.

Upendra Kushwaha says Tejashwi must “change his style” after Bihar voters reject MGB

Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha reacted sharply to the Bihar election trends, saying the Mahagathbandhan’s defeat was a result of its own attitude and messaging. Speaking in Patna, he said Tejashwi Yadav needs to seriously rethink how he approaches politics if he hopes to return to power in the coming years.

Kushwaha said, "I want to tell Tejashwi Yadav that if he wants to come to power in the next 10 or 20 years, he will have to change his pattern. He and his people's behaviour will have to change."

He dismissed the opposition narrative around “SIR”, saying "it wasn't an issue at all".

"The people of Bihar have rejected them, and they have created such a face in Bihar that they were bound to be rejected by the people of Bihar. By making statements that the public hates, the opposition, the RJD, wants to deceive the public."

"They cannot deceive the people of Bihar in that way. On one hand, our government is doing so much good work, and on the other hand, these people want to come to power by making baseless statements and inciting public sentiment. This is not possible."

According to him, the early numbers reinforce the BJP’s long-running slogan, “Modi hai toh mumkin hai.”

AIMIM’s Waris Pathan questions MGB’s leadership choices

A fresh political flashpoint emerged as AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan weighed in on the Bihar election 2025 trends. Speaking in Mumbai, he questioned why the Mahagathbandhan chose leaders from smaller caste groups for top positions while “ignoring” Bihar’s 19 per cent Muslim population.

Pathan said, "We also raised the issue that you (mahagathbandhan) declared a Mallah with 2 per cent of the vote as Deputy Chief Minister. You declare a Yadav with a 14 per cent vote as Chief Minister. But why not the 19 per cent Muslim population? What crime have Muslims committed? There are 19 per cent Muslims in Bihar. Is there no one among them who can become the Deputy Chief Minister, the Chief Minister?"

He also demanded that Tejashwi Yadav apologise for calling AIMIM’s party president an “extremist”, saying the remark hurt the community.

On AIMIM’s own performance, Pathan said that the party was "performing well" in several pockets and expressed confidence that “many of our MLAs will be elected". He reiterated that AIMIM is “neither part of the NDA nor the Mahagathbandhan”, adding that the party had earlier suggested a joint fight to avoid secular vote division. “We had asked for six seats, but there was arrogance..."

  • Bihar elections: Vote share picture at 1:45 PM

As counting moves deeper into the afternoon, the vote-share chart from the Election Commission gives a rough sense of how Bihar seems to have voted this time.

Right now, the biggest slice belongs to RJD, sitting around the 23 per cent mark. Tejashwi Yadav clearly still has a strong emotional base, especially among young voters and in the traditional strongholds.

Just behind RJD is the BJP, a little over 21 per cent. What’s striking, though, is how efficiently the BJP converts its votes into leads.

JD(U) is also holding its ground with close to 19 per cent. Nitish Kumar’s pockets, such as the rural belts, the older voters, and his core support groups, seem to have stayed with him. This is one of the main reasons the NDA is cruising past the 200-lead mark.

On the other side, Congress and the Left have modest numbers. Congress is hovering around 8 per cent, and the CPI family isn’t adding too much. It explains why the Mahagathbandhan, despite RJD’s strong vote share, is struggling to keep up.

One interesting bit: the ‘Others’ category is high, over 13 per cent. This means a lot of hyper-local candidates (independents, smaller outfits, protest votes) have eaten into the margins this time.

Bihar Election Result 2025 LIVE: Maithili Thakur says Alinagar “will become Sitanagar for sure”

Singer and BJP candidate Maithili Thakur, who is currently leading from Alinagar, shared her first reaction as counting trends continued to favour the NDA.

She said: “I am very happy that people have shown trust in me. This is not just my victory, this victory is theirs too. The work that Nitish Kumar has done for women has helped me a lot in my journey. People have a lot of love for PM Modi, and they have a lot of faith in the NDA. It (Alinagar) will become Sitanagar for sure.”

    'SIR... murder of democracy'

Congress MP Manickam Tagore has blamed the SIR exercise in Bihar for the opposition's drubbing in Assembly Election results. Tagore alleged during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar ahead of the elections, a majority of Opposition votes were deleted.

"SIR was done in Bihar right before the elections. 60 lakh voters were deleted in the exercise. 10% of total voters were deleted, and the majority of them were opposition voters. SIR, right before elections, has become another medium of vote chori... BJP and JD(U) are able to win only because of the SIR... SIR is a very big weapon to murder democracy... Everyone in Bihar wants change, but how is it not visible in the elections? The Election Commission is sold. Election Commission is working with the BJP...," the Congress leader alleged.

UP minister Anil Rajbhar hails NDA’s performance in Bihar, says support for Nitish Kumar’s ‘sushasan’ is clear

As the NDA comfortably crosses the majority mark in Bihar, reactions are pouring in from across party lines. Uttar Pradesh minister Anil Rajbhar called the alliance’s performance “a clear mandate for good governance” and praised the way voters have backed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Speaking to reporters, Rajbhar said, “Look at the BJP, JDU, the strike rate of Jitan Ram Manjhi, and the entire NDA. The way people of Bihar have supported them is unique in itself. This is the support to the ‘Sushasan’ of Nitish Kumar.”

Celebrations begin outside JD(U) office as supporters hail Nitish Kumar’s lead

Supporters of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have already begun celebrations outside the Janata Dal (United) office in Patna as trends continue to favour the NDA. Drums, colours and slogans have filled the street, with party workers calling it a “people’s mandate” for stability.

JD(U) leader Chotu Singh, speaking to the media, said, “We congratulate Nitish Kumar. The people of Bihar have made Nitish Kumar victorious. We will celebrate Holi, Diwali here.”

The mood outside the office has turned festive even as counting is still underway, with workers saying they’re confident the trend will turn into a decisive win for the Chief Minister.

LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary has hit out at the Mahagathbandhan over its negative campaigning as the alliance trails in Bihar trends.

"We had already said that people in Bihar want development, not change. The negative mindset with which the Mahagathbandhan conducts its politics has already been rejected by the people of Bihar many years ago. Even after that, there has been no change in the ideology of the Mahagathbandhan... The way the popularity of the people was in favour of the NDA, it was certain that a majority government was going to be formed..."

    'Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai'

With the NDA racing towards a landslide win in Bihar elections, BJP MP Deepak Prakash has said: "...The results have proven that 'Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai' and he will work even better now."

"This is a victory of the public of Bihar. It is clear that a double-engine government is going to be formed here. Congratulations to the voters here. People trust PM Modi and Nitish Kumar. BJP-NDA workers have worked hard and the speed of development will further pick up pace..."

Bihar's people failed to understand us - Jan Suraaj

Jan Suraaj, the new entrant to Bihar politics, has conceded defeat in the state Assembly Election. Its Bihar president Manoj Bharti has commented on the trends so far, stating the people here have failed to understand the party. Bharti said they had tried to bring a new kind of politics to Bihar but added that it is tough to do such a thing in Bihar. The trends show that the people have failed to understand us, and we also failed to make them understand, he stated.

Congress leader Udit Raj has commented on the Bihar Election Results 2025, saying this will not be a victory of the BJP or NDA but a victory through SIR.

An exuberant BJP national spokesperson Tuhin A Sinha has said that the Bihar election results so far are as per their expectations.

He said, "Voting was done against jungle raj. Our M-Y factor - Mahila (Women) and Yuva (Youth) - is more impactful than their (Mahagathbandhan) M-Y factor. It is unfortunate that the RJD people are threatening and trying to turn Bihar into Nepal and Bangladesh... I think we will get more than 160-170 seats."

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has described the Bihar election trends so far as a victory for the "Modi-Nitish good governance" in Bihar.

“The (Bihar) trends show Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is making an impact on the people of Bihar. The people have shown great courage despite issues like SIR and ‘vote chori.’ How effective Gyanesh Kumar Gupta will be remains to be seen. This contest is between the Election Commission of India and the people of Bihar. There was a book called ‘To Serve with Love.’ Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is writing this book for PM Modi,” Khera told reporters.

With the NDA racing towards a huge mandate in Bihar, alliance constituent and HAM(S) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi said that Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah had correctly predicted the mood in Bihar. It is important that Nitish Kumar remains CM as JD(U) will emerge as the single largest party, the fomer state CM added.

Bihar result LIVE: NDA opens up big morning lead as JD(U) and BJP surge across Bihar

The mid-morning trend sheet has shifted sharply in favour of the NDA, with the alliance opening up a commanding lead across a large stretch of Bihar.
