Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the NDA’s election campaign from Minapur, Muzaffarpur, on Tuesday, reminding people of the progress in employment, education, roads, and healthcare during his 20 years rule.
During the campaign, the chief minister targeted the RJD, saying people were afraid to leave their homes after sunset. “Do you remember the condition of Bihar before we came to power? People wouldn’t step out after evening, there was an atmosphere of conflict and unrest in society, roads were broken, electricity was limited to a few houses, and the state of education was very poor,” he said.
“Ever since we came into power, the rule of law has been established in Bihar. Now, there is an atmosphere of peace and harmony,” he added.
Nitish Kumar stated that in the past two decades, Bihar has found a new direction and identity through development, good governance, and social justice. The state has emerged from an era of darkness and disorder to one of development, trust, and opportunity.
The chief minister said under his leadership, Bihar has strengthened law and order, achieved significant improvements in education and healthcare, and institutionalised women’s participation at the panchayat (local governance) level.
He emphasised the historic steps taken to provide employment to the youth and empower women, stating that the interests of ordinary citizens have always been a top priority.
He claimed that his government has already provided employment to over 40 lakh people, and that the next government will aim to provide jobs and employment to 1 crore people between 2025 and 2030. He also promised that during this period, Bihar will become a hub of industrial investment and development, generating millions of jobs and employment opportunities for the youth.
Nitish Kumar appealed to the public to ensure the victory of NDA-supported JD(U) candidate Ajay Kushwaha from Minapur, BJP candidate Rama Nishad from Aurai, and JD(U) candidate Komal Singh from Gaighat.
