Bihar has become the first state in India to have all polling stations with less than 1,200 electors, the poll panel claimed Monday.
“To achieve this, 12,817 new polling stations were added, increasing the total to 90,712.l from 77,895. Lists of electors with issues were shared with 12 major political parties” the EC said in its daily press update.
It also said that from August 1, the public can file objections for changes in draft electoral rolls.
The ceiling has been revised from 1,500 to 1,200 electors per polling station as per the Bihar SIR order dated June 24.
