Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting in Lucknow to finalize preparations for Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya, scheduled for October.
With about a month to go, he directed the department to deliver an edition that surpasses all previous celebrations, blending devotion with innovation and presenting Ayodhya on a truly global stage.
The minister emphasized that Deepotsav 2025 must reflect both responsibility and imagination. A special green fireworks display, curated to global standards and designed with environment friendly innovation, will be a highlight of the evening. Citywide lighting and décor will transform streets, ghats, and heritage points into artistic depictions of the Ramayana so that every visitor feels connected to the story of Lord Shri Ram.
A synchronized show of 1100 drones will narrate episodes from the Ramayana and project the spirit of a New India driven by creativity and technology. At the heart of the celebration, more than 26 lakh diyas will glow across Ayodhya, with arrangements being made on a war footing to set a new world record and create an unforgettable sight for pilgrims and visitors.
The minister also directed that the Shobha Yatra must embody cultural unity, with artists from every state participating. At least 21 tableaus will be presented, including seven ‘jhankiyan’ based on the seven ‘Kands’ of the Ramayana prepared by the Culture Department. Six state tableaus are already confirmed, with further additions underway. He further instructed that Ram Katha Park should remain vibrant through cultural programming so that the festive spirit continues well into the night.
Speaking on this year’s vision, Jaiveer Singh said, “Every diya lit in Ayodhya this year must resonate with the message of New India. It must be responsible, innovative and world-class. Deepotsav 2025 will honor Shri Ram and also celebrate India’s cultural unity with participation from across the country.”
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Commissioner Ayodhya Rajesh Kumar, Special Secretary Tourism Eesha Priya, and senior officials of Tourism and Culture. District Magistrate Ayodhya, as well as other senior officials from Ayodhya, joined virtually.
