The Assam government has contributed Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support families affected by heavy rains and floods during the current monsoon season. Assam’s Power, Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Minister Prasanta Phukan presented the cheque to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in New Delhi on Wednesday.
In addition, Hindustan Unilever Limited extended support of Rs 50 lakh through its Senior Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs, and Lead India Growth, Rahul Bagga. State Transport Director Baldev Thakur also presented a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Sukhu expressed gratitude for the contributions, describing them as a noble gesture. He said it was a matter of great satisfaction that various state governments, philanthropists, organisations, and individuals were coming forward with generous donations, which go a long way in providing timely assistance to the affected families.
