Apprehensive of poaching of its flock, the AIADMK leadership has kept its flock confined at a luxury resort at Poornakuppam in neighbouring Puducherry.
The move to herd the newly elected legislators comes in the wake of the Congress joining hands with the TVK of Vijay. There were also reports that attempts are on to lure a section of the AIADMK legislators to shore up a majority for the TVK.
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) is slated to hold discussions with the newly elected legislators on the future course of action.
Besides security provided by the Puducherry police, private security personnel have also been deployed at the resort.
Resort politics is nothing new for the AIADMK. EPS himself was elected as Chief Minister at a resort in Koovathur on the ECR prior to Sasikala’s conviction and incarceration in Bengaluru prison.
