Popular Assamese filmmaker Rajesh Bhuyan has announced that the late music icon Zubeen Garg’s much-awaited film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ will finally release across India on October 31.

The project is close to many hearts because it was one of Zubeen’s personal dreams. Known for his unmatched contribution to Assamese and Indian music, Zubeen was deeply involved in the making of this movie.

According to Bhuyan, the film will not only showcase his creativity but will also preserve his voice as a tribute to the legend.

The filmmaker revealed that audiences will hear Zubeen Garg’s original voice recordings in the film. “We were working on this movie for the last three years. The story and music were by Zubeen himself. This is the first Assamese musical film. We had completed almost everything except the background score,” Bhuyan explained.

He further added that Zubeen had wished for the film to be released on October 31, and the team has decided to honour that date. “His voice is 80–90% clear since we recorded with a lapel mic. So we will only use his original voice,” Bhuyan said.

This makes the release even more emotional for fans, who will get to hear Zubeen’s voice on the big screen one last time.

While Assamese films often see limited releases, Bhuyan confirmed that ‘Roi Roi Binale’ will be launched nationwide.

Zubeen Garg’s sudden passing last month left his fans in shock. The 52-year-old singer died in Singapore on September 19. Official reports had stated drowning as the cause, but the case has since taken a dramatic turn.

His close associate and bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, has alleged that Zubeen was poisoned while abroad. According to Goswami, the late singer’s manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta deliberately chose a foreign location to hide their conspiracy.

Following these allegations, both Sharma and Mahanta have been arrested by the police. Interestingly, Goswami himself and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta have also been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
