'Zootopia 2' Review

Zootopia 2 Review: ‘Zootopia 2’ is taking the box office by storm and earning praise from critics everywhere. After some recent Disney animation flops like ‘Moana 2’ and Snow White adaptations, ‘Zootopia 2’ has truly saved the day for Disney. The film is loved by audiences worldwide especially in China and Japan where it has received extra appreciation.

The first ‘Zootopia’ became a fan-favorite animation. This meant ‘Zootopia 2’ had a tough challenge ahead. It needed to honour the legacy of the original while offering something fresh plots.

Once again the story follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they work together at the Zootopia Police Department. The duo goes undercover to uncover the hidden corruption in the city and reveal the dark history of how ‘Zootopia’ was built.

Along the way, new characters join the story. This includes Gary De Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan who brings some unique charm and helps our main heroes in surprising ways.

This sequel focuses more on Zootopia’s history exploring how certain animals were excluded from the city when it was first created. The film also gives audiences more insight into Nick and Judy’s relationship. Now this is some personal touch to the story. The animation is as beautiful as ever. It is full of creative details that make every scene come alive.

The movie mixes thrills, action, engaging comedy. New animal characters bring their own humour perfectly fitting into the story.

Beyond its absolutely entertaining story, ‘Zootopia 2’ has a deeper message. It uses animals as allegories and goes on to discuss serious topics such as racism, corruption, and the way power can manipulate rules for anyone’s personal gain. The story is darker than the first movie for sure. This makes it relevant for older viewers while still being mad fun for children. And, this makes ‘Zootopia 2’ a true family film. However to fully enjoy the story and understand the characters, we recommended you to watch the first ‘Zootopia’ movie first.

The film’s balance of comedy, adventure, suspense keeps viewers hooked from start to finish. It also encourages reflection on important social issues in a way that is accessible for younger audiences. But does it lose its appeal for adults while doing so? No.

Full of laughter, suspense, heart, ‘Zootopia 2’ is a must-watch this year. Also, hands down the best movie this year!
