On the occasion of Women’s Day, PVR Cinemas have decided to showcase Sridevi’s memorable films all day long as a tribute to the late actor.

Sridevi, who took her last breath on February 24, was considered as the first female superstar of Bollywood and what better way it could have been than to pay tribute to the actor on the occasion of Women’s Day.

The event is titled as The Sridevi Legacy — where a selected number of shows at PVR Cinemas will screen Sridevi’s most popular films like Chandni, ChaalBaaz, Lamhe, English Vinglish and Mom that will be exclusively catered to women as part of the Women’s Day special.

According to reports in mid-day, the late actor’s husband Boney Kapoor is honoured by such an initiative by PVR Cinemas.

“I am honoured that someone has taken this initiative. It feels good to know that some of Sridevi’s best works are going to be celebrated. I can’t think of a better way to honour her. It will be a treat for her fans to revisit her films,” Boney said.

Speaking about the same, Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Cinemas, believes there is no better way to celebrate the occasion than by showcasing the first female superstar’s greatest films on Women’s Day.

“The festival is an extension of our special weekly property dedicated to women. We wish to contribute towards women empowerment,” Dutta explained.

Sridevi was 54 at the time of her demise. The actor is survived by her husband Boney and two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
