Veteran actor Ashutosh Rana is currently winning hearts on stage as he takes on the role of Ravan in the play ‘Humare Ram’. Speaking about the experience, Rana shared how this production goes beyond entertainment.
In a recent chat with ANI, Rana said, “If we genuinely listen to and follow the story of Lord Ram, most of life’s problems will disappear. This isn’t just a tale of victory and defeat, but a grand epic based on the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram.”
He explained that Lord Ram’s purpose wasn’t to destroy but to uplift humanity. “Ram took birth in human form not to kill, but to guide and liberate,” he added.
The play ‘Humare Ram’ has already become a massive success across India. According to Rana, they recently performed their 261st show in Jaipur, completing shows in around 15 states within just 14 months.
What’s more, the play is now preparing for an international run, with shows lined up in Dubai this August.
Ashutosh Rana expressed gratitude for the audience’s love to ‘Humare Ram’, saying, “People are coming back to watch the play not once, but multiple times; twice, thrice, even four times. That’s the true sign that there’s joy and depth in the performance. When a story touches the heart, people naturally return to it.”

He also mentioned that the play has now entered its third season in Jaipur, a milestone that he considers a divine blessing. For Rana, portraying Ravan was a conscious choice.
Known for his layered performances, he said he always wanted to play the character of Ravan because of the complexity and depth it offers.
The cast of ‘Humare Ram’ brings together a powerful lineup of actors: Rahull Bhuchar plays Lord Ram, Danish Akhtar essays Hanuman, Tarun Khanna takes on the role of Lord Shiva, Harrleen Kaur Rekhi portrays Sita, and Karan Sharma appears as Surya Deva.
