Vicky Kaushal’s Uri still going strong at box office

In less than a month of run at the box office, Aditya Dhar directioral Uri: The Surgical Strike is all set to enter Rs 200 crore club. The Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer January release moved at a steady pace and achieved the feat fast.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted on Thursday and disclosed the total collections of the film so far. He posted: “#UritheSurgicalStrike will emerge the first *mid-range film* to cross ₹ 200 cr mark today [Day 28]… [Week 4] Fri 3.44 cr, Sat 6.61 cr, Sun 8.87 cr, Mon 2.85 cr, Tue 2.62 cr, Wed 2.38 cr. Total: ₹ 197.88 cr. India biz.”


The film has outshined the recent Bollywood releases when it comes to the Box office records. In another tweet he wrote, “UriTheSurgicalStrike benchmarks… Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 5 ₹ 75 cr: Day 8 ₹ 100 cr: Day 10 ₹ 125 cr: Day 13 ₹ 150 cr: Day 17 ₹ 175 cr: Day 23 ₹ 200 cr: Day 28 India biz. #Uri will cross ₹ 200 cr mark [Nett BOC] *within one month* of its release… The josh is veryyy high!”

On Saturday, Vicky Kaushal shared a heartfelt note on his Instagram handle, thanking his fans for all the love. He also talked about how the dialogue, “How’s the Josh”, turned into an emotion.


Uri is directed by Aditya Dhar and is based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army in 2016.

Produced by RSVP Movies, the film has Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. Uri: The Surgical Strike hit the screens on January 11, 2019.
