Veteran actress Navnindra Behl has passed away at the age of 76. After decades of work across films, television, theatre, and even international projects, her journey has come to a peaceful end.
The news was shared by her son, filmmaker Kanu Behl, in an Instagram post. Along with a photo, he poured his heart out, remembering his mother not just as a parent but as his strength and inspiration.
Calling her his “Titan,” “faith,” and “guide,” he wrote about how she shaped his life. His words painted a touching picture of their bond; her warm laughter, tight hugs, curious eyes, and that unforgettable smile.
As soon as the news broke, messages started pouring in from the film industry. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and many others expressed their grief and extended support to the family.
A career filled with memorable roles
Navnindra Behl’s career stretched across many years and formats. She appeared in some well-known Hindi films, including ‘Maachis’, directed by Gulzar. She was also seen in ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ by Dibakar Banerjee, and the popular film ‘Queen’ starring Kangana Ranaut.
Her talent was not limited to Indian cinema. She also worked in international projects like ‘The Pride’ and ‘The Guru’.
TV audiences also had a strong connection with her. She played the grandmother of Nakuul Mehta’s character in hit shows ‘Ishqbaaaz’ and ‘Dil Boley Oberoi’.
Over the years, she was also part of shows like ‘Viji’ and ‘Sadaa-E-Vaadi’.
