The teaser of ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ has not vanished overnight. Sunshine Pictures has stepped in to shut down swirling rumours that the teaser was pulled due to court orders. In a clear-cut statement, the production house called the news “completely false, baseless, and misleading.” They confirmed that no court has issued any direction to remove content, and nothing has been deleted from their platforms.
“Both the teaser and the trailer continue to be available on all official channels,” the statement read. The team also appealed to media houses, digital platforms, and fans to avoid spreading unverified information, warning that such gossip only causes unnecessary confusion.

Earlier this week, the Kerala High Court did issue a directive, but it wasn’t about pulling the film online. The court asked the makers to arrange a special screening in Kochi before the film hits theaters on Friday. This move seems to be standard precaution for movies dealing with sensitive subjects ensuring the court can review content before public release.
Sequel sparks debate
‘The Kerala Story 2’ is follow-up to the National Award-winning ‘The Kerala Story’ (2023). This sequel dives into the lives of three young women caught in what the film calls “deceptive marriages” and allegedly forced religious conversions.
From the moment the trailer dropped, reactions have been hot and divided. Opposition leaders, some celebrities, and numerous social media users have slammed the movie as “propaganda.” But the filmmakers insist that the story is based on researched real-life events, defending the film as a reflection of true incidents rather than fiction.
Director Kamakhya Narayan Singh told ANI that he stands fully behind his work. “If I had shown anything wrong or misleading in this film, I would leave filmmaking,” he said.
With the release just days away, the buzz around ‘The Kerala Story 2’ is only getting louder.
