First comes love, then comes laughter, and finally… a monster? Maddock Films has cracked open the teaser of ‘Thama’, a horror-comedy that dares to mix roses with rattling chains. With Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui headlining the film, the stage is set for something truly unusual.

The teaser starts off in the most unexpected way: calm, romantic, and dreamy. Ayushmann’s character, Alok, looks at Rashmika with longing and asks, “Will you be able to live without me for 100 years?”

Rashmika, with equal warmth, replies, “Not even for one moment.”

Within seconds, the teaser throws viewers into a dark spiral. Shadows, screams, and a chilling atmosphere take over. Enter Nawazuddin Siddiqui, believed to be playing Yakshasan, the King of Darkness. With flowing locks, a menacing stare, and an aura that screams power, Nawazuddin looks almost unrecognisable. His entry changes everything.

Suddenly, this love story feels like a desperate fight for survival. Rashmika’s character juggles between pain and anger, while Ayushmann prepares to battle the odds to protect their love.

The promotions have been building excitement for weeks. Character posters already gave fans a taste of what’s coming. Ayushmann was introduced as “Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed” (the last hope for humanity). Rashmika is called “Roshni ki pehli kiran” (the first ray of light). And Nawazuddin, in his darkest avatar yet, is “Andhere ka Badshah” (King of Darkness).

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal joins the cast as Ram Bajaj Goyal, a man known for finding tragedy inside comedy. And just when you think the surprises are over, there’s more. Malaika Arora is going to make a special appearance in a dance number.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who gave audiences ‘Munjya’, and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, ‘Thama’ is a production of Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. It is ready for a worldwide release this Diwali.
