Music fans, here is some treat! Some of the biggest names in pop, rock, and hip-hop have been nominated for the 2026 class of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. According to ‘Variety’, this year’s lineup is as star-studded as it gets, featuring the incredible Taylor Swift, legendary rapper LL Cool J, and Talking Heads frontman David Byrne.

But that’s just the beginning. The nomination list reads like a playlist of music history. It includes ‘Footloose’ hitmaker Kenny Loggins, powerhouse performer Pink, and soulful singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan. The all-female band The Go-Go’s (Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, and Jane Wiedlin) are also in the running.

Rock icons Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of ‘The Guess Who’, along with Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell of ‘America’, and ‘Kiss’ legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, round out the rock category.

In the performer-songwriter category, names like Richard Carpenter from ‘The Carpenters’ stand tall. Popular for timeless hits such as ‘Top of the World’, ‘Yesterday Once More’, and ‘Goodbye to Love’, Carpenter’s influence is massive.

Joining him are KC from ‘KC and the Sunshine Band’ famous for his five Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers and singer-guitarist Boz Scaggs celebrated for his soulful rock classics.

On the non-performing side, the talent runs just as deep. Disco legend Pete Bellotte who helped shape the sound of the 1970s is joined by Swedish pop producer Andreas Carlsson and songwriter Steve Kipner, the mind behind Olivia Newton-John’s ‘Physical’ and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie in a Bottle’.

To qualify for induction, a songwriter must have released their first commercial song at least 20 years ago. Voting members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame can cast their ballots until midnight Eastern Time on December 4 selecting up to three names each from both major categories.
