Taylor Swift is once again packing her bags for a city she has often sung about: London. The global pop superstar is reportedly flying to the British capital next week to shoot the music video for her track ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ from The Life Of A Showgirl. And this time, the inspiration comes straight from one of Hollywood’s most glamorous legends.

According to reports, the 35-year-old singer wants to honour the early life of the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, who spent her childhood in London before becoming one of cinema’s most unforgettable icons.

A source told The Sun that Taylor is “super excited” to return to the city and film in locations connected to the screen legend. They added that Swift has always expressed her affection for London in her songs and the new video will “capture different locations around the city” that reflect that love.

Elizabeth Taylor was born in Hampstead, north London, in 1932. Her early home still carries a blue plaque marking its historical significance. She lived there until her family moved to Los Angeles when she was seven. This shift eventually placed her on the path to Hollywood stardom. Swift’s decision to film in London is now a heartfelt nod to those early years.

The connection between the two Taylors doesn’t stop there. The pop star has previously spoken about how surprised and honoured she felt when Elizabeth Taylor’s son, Chris Wilding openly compared her to his mother.

In a TikTok video, Swift said, “My parents sent me this clip of Elizabeth Taylor’s son saying something very flattering… that if there were one person he might compare to his mother in the modern day, in terms of persona and the chaos around us, he said it would be me. I was so flattered by that.”

This unexpected compliment later became one of the sparks behind the song. While working on it, Swift even discussed lyrical ideas with her fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce. Friends of the couple say Kelce has been one of her biggest cheerleaders as she builds the visual world around the track.
